Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a huge fan of taking luxurious showers. Whenever I have the spare free time to really delve into my skin care, pampering myself with a nice bath/shower is always a must. I don’t know if I’m the only one, but I love spoiling myself with as shower and body products I know I’ll love.

Okay, now let’s talk about the new LUX even tone body soap! Did I tell you about it’s scent! It has this classy floral scent that is actually  pleasing to my nose. One thing that I love about it is that, it doesn’t bother your nose – never worry if you are not a fan of strong scents. Ya’ll always take a deep breath now whenever you shower because you enjoy the scent so much? I do that too – lol!

I truly enjoy my experience with LUX even tone soap and i definitely would buy it with out of my pocket. I highly recommend this soap for everybody except for very young children, the scent is amazing and it’s very kind to the skin. Did I tell you of how affordable it is? Well, it is.

Dove Invisible Dry Antiperspirant

Okay, let’s get it! Just like brushing your teeth, washing your face, and applying (right??), applying deodorant is one of those beauty tasks we do automatically or involuntarily every day or every morning  without putting much thought into it. However, like all of the tasks, most of us apply deodorant in the morning. No-brainer, right? I hope so…at least. Apparently not. Our clothes, especially the bold colours react with the chemicals in deodorant differently, they leave stains and that is not cool.

The use of Dove antiperspirant has left me in awe. It has improved ingredients for no white marks, allowing you to feel more confident to wear more colours and bolder colours.

Dove Derma Spa Hand Cream

This daily hand cream is perfect for on-the-go hydration and is the ultimate hand-bag must-have!

This hand cream treatment has a nice texture. It feels nice and smooth and definitely makes my hands feel hydrated, but it can make my hands feel oily if I use too much. I’ve never taken the best care of my hands either just because I don’t think they’re particularly pretty hands and because I’m so clumsy nail polish never lasts on my fingernails without chipping for more than a couple days, so it always seemed pointless to me to attempt to make them look nice. A key quality about this particular hand cream is that it has a non-greasy formula that will leave your hands feeling really nicely hydrated but not greasy or slippery (which is key as I’ve mentioned I’m clumsy enough as it is without being even more of a butter-fingers). Another amazing aspect of this hand cream is the scent– it has a gorgeous vanilla coconut-y smell on account of the coconut and marula oils that help to provide intensive moisture.

After exposure to chemicals – be it cleaning products, workplace chemical products, etc., these chemicals take moisture out of our skin, leaving it dry. Applying hand cream will restores the skin’s moisture and softness.

After washing or any prolonged contact with water (ie. after washing your dishes, etc). Water is a naturally drying agent. Applying hand cream after long contact with water prevents wrinkles and cracks.

Stay tuned as I continue to bring you honest & personal reviews on all sorts of beauty and wellness products!

Cleansing Done Right With NIVEA Micellar Water

Hello, Beauty Mates! I’m SO excited to share today’s post with you. No matter what your beauty or makeup routine, a good skin-care routine is the foundation you want to be working with. The older I get, the more concerned I get about my skin, especially on my face. I’m not very inclined to use new products unless I’m just unhappy with what I’m using. I feel like I never know how my skin will react to something in a new product and I rarely like to take that chance.

You’ve taken off your makeup, your face is squeeky clean and you’re ready to hit the hay, right? Wrong! Chances are you’re going about your facial cleansing in the wrong way and you’re living in blissful ignorance. If you have very oily skin, acne, irritability, redness, dry flaky skin or dry skin and oily skin at the same time, it could well be that you’ve been making the same skincare mistakes the whole time. If you don’t get cleansing right, this is going to have a knock on effect to the rest of your skincare and likely hamper any progress. I have used the NIVEA Micellar Water 3 in 1 for 2 weeks and the results are amazing. It is a favourite of mine. It’s very moisturising and rich, non irritating and comforting.

Here’s a little science- your skin defends itself by producing an acidic substance called sebum. Sebum contains fatty acids, Lactic Acid, Urocanic acids, amino acids and enzymes. It forms the acid mantle which coats the skin in an acidic protective layer. Sebum is your skin’s best defence against infection, mess with it’s balance and you pay dearly. NIVEA Micellar Water cleanses and hydrates your skincare issue- acne/dryness/irritation, so definitely take a good look at your cleansing routine before wondering why all the treatments you try seem to fail. Happy cleansing ladies.

The New Labello Vanilla Buttercream, My Lip’s Bestfriend.

As a bona fide lip product junkie, I have had my fair share of lip balms. On any given day, I can easily have at least three to five different lip products in my handbag – the majority of them being various types of lip balms.

It’s really nice to know that there are much healthier options out there that not only taste delicious but smell delicious as well. Might as well have those features being so close to your mouth and getting ingested to a degree throughout the day as you reapply, speak, drink, eat, etc. A Lip balm is one of those things that I tend to apply religiously throughout the cooler months, and this winter especially I seem to have been struggling with dry lips. I’ve learnt that it’s extremely important to opt for a natural lip balm, as not only are the ingredients absorbed through your skin, they are also actually ingested.

Using a balm that has natural and genuinely hydrating ingredients and smells nice is a far more effective method of moisturising your lips!

I thought I’d share with you a lip balm I’m currently loving…the New Vanilla Buttercream flavoured Labello.

Why’s this my favorite lip balm?

Well, it’s because although the texture is a bit stiffer than some of the other balms, it’s not too stiff that it won’t sink in effectively – but not oily enough that other lip products don’t sit well on top. I use thick layers at night, thin layers underneath my lipstick during the day, & a medium layer if I don’t want colored lips that day. No chapping – ever. For me, that’s truly what it comes down to.
